Update 12-30-2011

Sorry this took long to update, was out of contact for a few days.

Grandma is at Mercy General Hospital getting Physical Therapy.  She is standing on her own, but not walking yet.  They are focusing on her getting up and down from bed and chairs right now.  She has had a slight return of movement to her left arm.  So far still doing great, sleeps good now because of the PT.  All of the physicians are very hopeful based on the level of improvement already and she has a tenative escape day of January 11th.

Keep praying for her so that she does not get discouraged.

update 12/26/2011

Grandma is doing good.  She had some physical therapy today and she actually stood up on her own today.  It was not for long but she was up on her own two feet.  She is still as happy as ever and charming every person who walks in the door like normal.

Update 12-24-2011

Hope your are all having a very merry merry celebration.  Grandma will remain here at mercy over weekend maybe even to Tuesday (Hopefully not).  Then she will be moved into Mercy General  acute rehab center.  She is doing wonderful just needs major sleep, She can move her left leg much more than she could yesterday.  We will all celebrate Christmas together one way or another.  Merry Christmas to everyone.

This is Grandma after 2pm.  She had taken a nap and was also able to eat and drink. Still in a good mood.

How Grandma Is Doing

Thank you all for you concern.  We just want you to know that mother has had a stroke.  She is immobile on her whole left side, but does have feeling.  She just cannot move her leg or arm.  Her face looks as beautiful as usual and she has not lost her sense of humor at all.  She has been making everyone laugh and almost made it impossible for Pastor Mark to pray for her.  We are waiting for a bed to free up at an acute rehabilitation center so we can mover her there.

We are praying for a complete recovery of her body, mind has not been affected.  As of now we are waiting paciently at Mercy San Juan.  If you don't catch us on the phone we are sorry we are taking care of mom.  We want to wish you a Merry Merry Christmas, make sure you make memoriable memories with you familiy and tell them that you love them.
